Bonkers clubs owners Charlie Gilkes and duncan Stirling are at it again. Not content with making 1980s hits like ‘Flashdance ‘What a Feeling’ dance-floor staples at their clubs Bart’s and Maggie’s now they are borrowing inspiration from our continental cousins and opening a club that pays homage to everything Italian. Bunga-Bunga Battersea, which opens in early September, will boats a gondola-shaped bar, a stage modeled on the Coliseum and a list of pizzas names after Prime Minister Berlusconi’s alleged consorts. Salamis will hang over the bar and behind it, ex-Mahiki man Robin Kay will be preparing some of the best Bellinis this side of Harry’s Bar.
